Indonesia is a vast archipelago made up of more than 17,000 islands, stretching along the Equator from Southeast Asia to Australia. It covers more than 5,000km from West to East. The climate in Indonesia is almost entirely tropical – rainy or dry throughout the year. There are also higher mountain and volcano regions, where the temperature naturally decreases with altitude. Close to the shore, the temperature is stable, from around 22/25 degrees Celsius to around 30/32 degrees Celsius all year round.
The currency used in Indonesia is Indonesian Rupiah. The best option is to exchange your currency at an authorised agency before your trip to Indonesia. Major credit cards, such as Visa and Mastercard, are accepted in major hotels, restaurants and shops, as well as in some airports.
The itineraries of M/Y White Pearl are designed to follow the high season and hence, favorable weather and sea conditions are expected all year round.
Even though hundreds of local dialects and regional languages are recorded in the archipelago, the common language is Bahasa Indonesia. As a tourist, there will be no problems communicating in English, as the language is widely spoken in Indonesia.
